Ten-man Town battled to a 3-2 victory after going two goals down within 13 minutes against newly-promoted Plymouth. Sub Shefki Kuqi netted twice late on after Fabian Wilnis had been shown a straight red card in the first half, after Jason De Vos had pulled a goal back for the Blues.

A lacklustre Town bowed out of the Carling Cup at the second round stage after suffering a 2-0 defeat at Doncaster Rovers. Ricky Ravenhill netted the first in the seventh minute and Jermaine McSporran added to the home side's lead in the first attack of the second half.

Town came from behind to gain a deserved point from an entertaining 1-1 draw with West Ham at Upton Park. Malky Mackay seized on an error in the Town defence to put the Hammers ahead early on but the Blues struck back through Pablo Couñago in the second half.

Striker-turned-defender Richard Naylor says that silencing West Ham's crowd could be a big factor in the Blues gaining a victory at Upton Park on Saturday. Last season Town defeated Alan Pardew's men in the corresponding league fixture but lost in a play-off second leg in front of a vociferous home crowd.
